Paulownia is fast becoming a popular timber for the manufacture of all types of surfboards. We can supply all the paulownia you need to make your wooden surfboard. Whether it a hollow board with a 4.5 to 6 mm skin over framing or a chambered board starting with solid timber we can supply your needs. We have rough sawn timber for you to produce your own strips or we can supply them DAR to your specification.
We also have 25 mm planks that can be made into panels to make your own alaia boards and allow you to experiment with contrasting timbers like western red cedar. If you prefer we stock pre glued paulownia panels that are 550 mm wide and 19 mm thick in lengths of 2.1 to 2.4 metre so you can shape your own. These blanks are made of first grade Australian paulownia that has been kiln dried. They are not from imported Chinese timber.
The prices for these blanks vary from $130.00 for a 2.1 metre panel to $150.00 for a 2.4 metre panel
To assist customers who are interested in building eco friendly hollow wooden surf boards we have an agreement with Roy Stewart of www.olosurfer.com/- to supply the timber kits to construct his hollow wooden surfboards. The plans are purchased direct from Roy who then emails them to you. We supply the Paulownia cut to Roy’s specifications to suit the style of board you have purchased.
